In order to provide our patients with an extraordinary level of service, we have three full-time office staff available to answer any administrative questions or scheduling issues, to help with prescription refill requests, and to pass messages along to the doctors throughout the day.
As our clinicians are frequently in session with patients, your call will likely be answered by the office manager at South Coast Psychiatry, the assistant office manager at South Coast Psychiatry, or one of our administrative assistants. If our staff members are on the other line(s), or helping patients in the office, and you happen to get our voicemail, please leave a message with your contact information and best times for a returned call. Calls are usually returned within several hours, and always within one business day.

For established patients, please call your clinician on their personal, after hours line, for any urgent concerns (after-hours numbers for current patients of all our clinicians are available on our voicemail). All of our clinicians are available to their established patients during evenings, weekends, and holidays by pager and/or cell phone for urgent issues.
Additionally, all of our clinicians all work together to provide coverage for one another if one of the providers is out of town or away from the office, so patients are never left without a covering clinician who can speak with them or see them if needed.
Email is provided for patient communication and for general questions about South Coast Psychiatry. Please be aware that email is not a secure, confidential medium of communication; third parties may intercept, view and store your confidential information. In addition, electronic messages may not be received or responded to promptly. No emergency evaluation or treatment recommendations are provided via e-mail.
At South Coast Psychiatry, part of what sets us apart from other outpatient practices, is that we have three full time administrative staff available to address your needs throughout the day. The other thing that sets our outpatient practice apart is that all of clinicians are available to their established patients via their email, cell phone and via text message. These methods of communication are used for ongoing communication, check-ins, and for continuity of care in between appointments. Please remember that while our clinicians will strive to be available to their established patients via these methods, and to respond within an appropriate amount of time (you will receive a response usually in a matter of hours, but always in less one business day), none of these (email, cell or text message) are appropriate methods of communication for emergency information, and none are secure, encrypted or can guarantee confidentiality should you choose to use these methods to communicate to your clinician. If you are experiencing an emergency situation, please call 911 or proceed to your nearest ER.
